Whether you’re organizing a sangeet, a college event or a corporate event, it is likely you will choose this one game that has been a part of everybody’s childhood – Antakshiri. However with changing trends, I’ll tell you to say good bye to that old, “Baithe Baithe Kya Kare…” pattern of the game, and bring in some extra fun. Below are the different rounds of Antakshiri, you can use instead of the traditional way it is always played.
1. Find Your Celebrity Family
How to play: As guests arrive, hand each one a card with a celebrity name—think big Bollywood families like the Khans, Kapoors, Dutts, Bhatts, Roshans, or Deols. For a personal twist, you can even throw in the names of your host family members—after all, they’re the real celebrities today! 🎉
Goal: Once everyone is inside, the host announces that it’s time for the guests to find their filmy family. For example, if you have Salman Khan, go find Salim Khan, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Salma Khan!
Why it works: It’s a brilliant icebreaker at the start of the party, gets people mingling, and adds a fun dose of Bollywood trivia + social interaction.
💡 Pro Tip: Once all families are reunited, you can make them take a “family portrait” together — perfect for Instagram!

2. Word Round OR Shabd Jaal
How it works: Assign a word (e.g., “Pyar”) to a team. They have 1 minute to sing as many Bollywood songs containing that word.
Examples:
- “Chahiye thoda pyar”
- “Har kissi ko nahi milta yahan pyar zindagi mein”
- “Pyar kiya toh darna kya”
Theme twists:
- For baby showers: Use words like maa, papa, baby, ladla, dadi
- Recently adapted this for a corporate event where the company was into construction with words like: ghar, lift, kamra, khidki
3. Jodi Round
How it works: Teams pick a famous Bollywood pair from chits (e.g., Sharukh & Kajol, Rekha & Amitabh, Alia and Ranbir, etc) and must sing one iconic song featuring them.
Example: For Shah Rukh & Kajol – “Tujhe dekha to yeh jana sanam”
🎤 Romantic duets, on demand!
4. Dialoguebaaz
How it works: Each table receives 6 shuffled dialogue strips (totaling 17 lines). Teams race to correctly sequence them, then act them out.

Highlight: First team to arrange the dialogue wins the stage—and applause!
🎭 May the best dramebaaz win.
Why it works: Creativity + competitive spirit = lots of laughter!
Bonus: Offer themed printouts for keepsakes.
5. Picture Abhi Baaki Hai (Guess the Song/Movie)
- How to play: Show screenshot images (e.g., “Hum Aapke Hain Koun – Pehla Pehla Pyar Hai”). Teams try and guess the movie and sing the song.
6. Sun Saiba Sun / Guess the Tune
- How to play: DJ plays short instrumental/music clips. Teams must name the song ASAP.
- Why it works: Familiar tunes keep energy high and nostalgia flowing.
7. Musical Bingo
Okay now, this is my favorite! If your party guests are in for a sit-down event and enjoy listening to some good music. Then this is the game for your party.
How to play: Hand out bingo sheets with songs on them, and explain the rules. The guests then just have to listen to the song being played and mark it out. Buy the sheets here.
You can list songs for a certain era or genre. Choose between English or Bollywood depending on the audience and theme of the party.

8. Dumb Charades / Pehchaan Kaun
- How to play: Classic charades with Bollywood movie titles.
- Goal: Act it out in a time limit for teammates to guess.
- Why it works: Simple, timeless, and highly entertaining.
9. Translate This!
- How to play: Read out literal English translations of lyric lines (eg. “When I first saw you…”); teams guess the Hindi version and the song.
- Example:
- “Here my day ends, here my day begins…” — “Teri Galiyan”
- “When I first saw you… fragrant spell…” — “Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha”
- You can find the more examples by searching your favorite songs on youtube and turning on the captions
- Why it works: Clever, fun, and challenges lyrical knowledge.
10. Match the Bollywood Family
- How to play: Provide sheets to match Bollywood parents & kids or couples.
- Example: Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi, Sanjay Dutt’s son Shahraan, Kajol & Ajay, etc.
- Why it works: A nostalgic trip down celebrity lanes!
11. Catch the Move
- How to play: DJ plays hit songs like “Lungi Dance” or “Aao Twist Kare.”
- Goal: Guests must show the iconic dance move—winner gets applause (and maybe bragging rights!).
- Why it works: Dance breaks = high energy + fun.
🔥 Pro Tips for Hosting:
- Rotate games to maintain energy and avoid fatigue.
- Offer small prizes (movie tickets, gift cards, themed goodies).
- Keep a flexible flow – some guests might want to sing, others play bingo—cater to all.
From nostalgic songs to silly dances, this Musical Bollywood Party lineup is designed to include everyone—kids, elders, Bollywood buffs, and casual fans. It creates moments to laugh, sing, compete, and celebrate together.
